Every business is different
Which is why every website Should Be too
Here are a few examples of projects I’ve worked on in 2026
Broken website – abandoned by previous developer

Free website health check identified the error with the old site – sadly could not be repaired, but content was salvaged.

Community Project rebranded
New name, needed a new website with a fresh new look.
Site needed to be easy to navigate, with a linked calendar and social media feed.
No bells and whistles – just information presented clearly
A no-nonsense, authoritative and trustworthy style was needed here – conveying important information simply and effectively.

Silly, funny, joke website – flush your cares away!
A bathroom inspired palette, a quirky mascot, and a very simple 5 page website with emails – completed and live in under a week.
Every website tells a story…

Left in the Lurch By Another Developer…
Portajet.co.uk
Carl explained that he’d had the website for over a decade, but it was tired and the content needed updating. Worse news was that some of the pages were no longer displaying correctly and were showing gobbledegook code instead – including the all-important Contact Page!
The original developer had sold their business to another agency – who were refusing to help.
I initially did a free website health check.
I was able to identify the cause of the gobbledegook issue – the original developer had used software which is no longer available. Unfortunately, the problem wasn’t repairable, and so a full rebuild was required to get the site back up and running again.
This offered the perfect opportunity to improve the site’s structure, making it easier to navigate, and better showcasing the services on offer.
The company’s well established social media feeds provided excellent content, including amazing before and after shots that perfectly illustrated the great work they do.
As cleaning is very visual, I utilised multiple galleries to showcase the different services offered. I also incorporated some of their glowing Google Reviews to inspire confidence.
A social media feed on the homepage was established to keep the content fresh, while keeping the rest of the site low maintenance for many years to come.

“I knew how much an improvement the new website was – what I didn’t expect was the uplift in customer enquiries straight away.”
Sharing Is Caring…
IncredibleSurplus.org
Originally called The Real Junk Food Project Birmingham – a food waste redistribution project was rebranding and needed new site to match. The old website was functional, but very text heavy and not very visually appealing.
A graphic designer provided a bright new ‘Incredible Surplus’ logo and graphical elements, and I turned these into page spacers and icons to brighten up the pages.
A widget was sited on every page to show the upcoming calendar events, a link for donations was added, quotes from customers from Facebook and Google reviews were sprinkled around, and a new volunteer password-protected area was set up to allow essential documents to be found and downloaded easily. Interactive Google maps were added to venue pages.

“The website is much brighter and more appealing, with some really useful features for customers and volunteers.”
Information and Support…
BigBirthas.co.uk

This non-profit organisation provides support and information about higher BMI pregnancies and needed a low-cost solution that was easy for them to maintain.
With a blog section for regular updates to subscribers, and dozens of static pages for information about different stages of pregnancy, it was important that the vibe is friendly and supportive, but the information is clear and authoritative.
“The website was previously hosted somewhere else – which initially seemed like a good value option – until it was clear how many essential, basic elements weren’t included in the quote and costs ballooned. On top of all that, the hosting wasn’t even reliable – the site was often offline! Since moving to Piece Of Cake, I can’t remember the last time the site was down, and all the pricing has been really clear and reasonable – with everything included.”
A Silly Concept, But a Fully Functioning website…
WeWillWipeIt.com
An e-commerce platform with one product only: customised toilet paper. Sounds daft! But the product isn’t the toilet paper… it isn’t even the personalised message written on the toilet paper… it’s the knowledge of what happens to the message AFTER it’s been shared on social media… and the catharsis of knowing its fate!
I leaned into the bathroom theme here – with a clean white tiled background, aqua accents and wave-like section dividers that mimic the company mascot, Lulu.
This site needed to be simple, functional and trustworthy. Funny, but clear it’s a legitimate business. Using WooCommerce and partnering with Stripe for the payments, both industry leaders, gives the confidence that transactions are secure.
If the business wants to expand into more products in future, it’s easy to scale – some of the biggest e-commerce sites are built on WordPress.
